Nancy Ann Terry Cottrell, age 64, a resident of 443 Oak Street, died Monday, February 2, 2014 at Duke University Hospital.Born in Vance County on November 14, 1950 she was the daughter of the late William Allen Terry and Mildred Bullock Terry.
Nancy Ann was a life-long resident of Henderson and attended school in Mrs. L. T. Harriss classes at West End and E. M. Rollins schools. She enjoyed meeting people and loved everyone she met.Those who knew her loved her dearly.Her favorite activities were watching old movies, Duke basketball and golfing on television. She also enjoyed long drives in the country and an occasional fishing excursion in Louisburg.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Judith Pittman of King, NC.Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford.
She is survived by her husband, Kelvin Keith Cottrell of the home; one brother, William Allen Terry, Jr. (Dianne) of Northport, Alabama, formerly of Raleigh; sisters-in-law Sandra Cottrell Greenland(Greg) of Coral Springs, Florida, Diane Cottrell Dickerson (James) of Oxford, NC, Candy Cottrell, Wake Forest, NC; nieces and nephews, Anna Kathryn Terry of Northport, Alabama; William Allen Terry, III (Crystal) of Greenville, NC, Allison Harris of Henderson,Jim Dickerson (Sue) of Oxford, NC, Chip Young (Brittany) of Louisburg, NC, Claire Cottrell Young (Bee Pruitt) of Louisburg, NC, William E. Simmons (Carrie) of Oviedo, Florida, Scott Simmons (Trish) of Los Angeles, California, Michael Greenland of Coral Springs, Florida.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 at J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home, 443 Oak Street, Henderson.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Cole Dickerson, Lane Dickerson, Will Terry, Chip Young, Jim Dickerson, Jason W. Currin, Larry Bullock, Jimmy Renn, James Dickerson, and Greg Greenland.
