Nellie Parham Knott

HENDERSON-Nellie Parham Knott, age 77, a resident of 3600 Hicksboro Road, died Sunday, September 11, 2011, at her home.Born in Halifax County on August 24, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Parham and Ivory Douglas Parham.Mrs. Knott was a homemaker and a tobacco farmer.She was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church where she was active in many church functions and was a member of the Hassie Clarke Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at Island Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Marshall Neathery.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Wheeler and Kathy West of Henderson; two sons, Tim Knott and Michael Knott of Henderson; seven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Wilson Knott.
Mrs. Knott will be taken to the home at 3600 Hicksboro Road on Monday where she will remain until one hour prior to the service.
Serving as active pall bearers will be her grandsons, Christopher Knott, Derek Knott, Jason West, and Eddie Ellington, Tony Meza, Tommy Bennett, and Carlton Norwood.
