HENDERSON-Newell Sherrod Garrison, age 69, a resident of 45 Pine View Road, died Sunday, August 08, 2010, at his home.Born in Reidsville, NC on March 18, 1941, he was the son of the late Alfonzo Carrol Garrison and Mary Lillian Allen Garrison.He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Saint Gobain Containers, Inc.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the American Flint Glass Workers Union.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 15, 2010, at 2:00 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home chapel by Rev. George D. Speake.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Felts Garrison of the home; two daughters, Jennifer Garrison Cathcart and husband, Art Cathcart, Jr. of Holly Springs, and Gina Laurel Garrison Abate and husband, Jeff of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Michael D. Cathcart and BrandonCathcart; one brother, James C. Garrison and wife, Audrey of Bradenton, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Pernell K. Garrison of Charlotte and Christine Garrison Callis of Henderson; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Allen Garrison and Sam Perry Garrison.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 45 Pine View Road.
