Olivia Breedlove Southerland

Olivia Breedlove Southerland, age 90, a former resident of Red Bud Drive, died Friday, June 10, 2011, at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehab.in Louisburg.Born on January 25, 1921 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene R. Breedlove and Pearl Kittrell Breedlove, and was the widow of William Robert Southerland, Jr.Mrs. Southerland was a graduate of Henderson Business College and was a retired Lab Technician at the former Harriett & Henderson Yarns, Inc.She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the former Christine Jenkins Sunday School Class.
Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. George D. Speake.
She is survived by two sons, Richard J. Southerland and wife, Brenda of Henderson and William B. Southerland and wife, Lisa of Wilmington; and four grandchildren, Kelly Jo S. Toups and husband, Jason of Wilmington,Richard Gabriel Southerland and wife, Stacy of Greenville, NC, Katherine Olivia Southerland, and William Walter Southerland, both of Wilmington, NC.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Sunset Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Foundation Of America, 322 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, New York 10001.
