Otha Paul Wilkins, Sr. age 85, a resident of Henderson and Mount Sterling, Kentucky, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.Born in Vance County on July 24, 1926 he was the son of the late Henry Marshall Wilkins and Ella Mae Cannady Wilkins.He was a United States Navy Veteran having served in World War II. Mr. Wilkins was the former owner and operator of Friendly Florist in Henderson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Jerry Davidson.Burial with military honors will follow in the Flat Rock United Methodist Church cemetery.
Mr. Wilkins is survived by a son, Paul Wilkins, Jr. of Petersburg, VA , and a brother Floyd H. Wilkins of Henderson.He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Renn Wilkins.Serving as pall bearers will be Ray Wilkins, Alton Owens, Robert Carroll, Charles Lloyd, Jack Thompson, and Allen Reid.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 7:00 PM till 8:30 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home.
