Otis Lee Hicks, 84, a resident of Waters Edge Loop Road, died on Friday, June 25, 2021 at his home.Born in Orange County on June 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Henry Lee Hicks and Margaret E. Dezern Hicks.Lee proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.He was a retired Operation Manager at Dunlop and Abbott Manufacturing Company, and was previously employed with McDonald Douglas Aircraft.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Wayne Clark.Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his significant other, Sylvia Jean Goodreau of Henderson; two sons, Gregory Lee Hicks (Pam) of Escondido, California and Michael David Hicks of Mesa, Arizona; five grandchildren, Christopher Hicks, Dylan Hicks, Rachael Hicks, Samantha Hicks, and Joshua Hicks; and two great grandchildren, Kai Hicks and Grace Hicks.
The family will receive prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Lee to the Cherokee Preservation Foundation, 71 John Crowe Hill Road, PO Box 504, Cherokee, NC28719.
