Patricia Ann Taylor Padgett

HENDERSON-Patricia Ann Taylor Padgett, 82, died on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Maria Parham Health. Born on May 28, 1942 in Lenoir County, she was the daughter of the late Raeford Barton Taylor and Pauline King Taylor, and was the widow of Lorimer C. Padgett. Mrs. Padgett was a former secretary for the Chief of the Henderson Police Department. Mrs. Padgett was a member of Unity Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM by the Rev. Calvin Hedgepeth. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens. She is survived by one daughter, Paula Vaughan (Randy) of Henderson; three sons, Craig Padgett (Angie) and Timothy Padgett of Henderson and Jarrod Padgett (Michele) of Simcoe, Ontario; nine grandchildren, J. Me Vaughan, Jason Vaughan, Joseph Vaughan, Andrea Padgett, Nicole Griffin, Kristin Padgett, Brittni Padgett, Alisha McBride, and Josh Harp; 13 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; one step-brother, Eddie Powell of Sevierville TN; one brother in law Preston Padgett of Jacksonville; and two special friends, Edith Garrett and Shelvia Harris. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Jonathan Vaughan, her step-mother, Maxine Taylor; one step-brother, Dudley Cole; and one step-sister, Nadine Cash. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Craig and Angie Padgett, 3169 Thomas Road, Henderson, NC 27537. Serving as pall bearers will be her grandsons, J-Me Vaughan, Jason Vaughan, Joseph Vaughan, Joshua Vaughan, Sam McDaniel, IV, and Bryson Bullock. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Unity Baptist Church c/o Kathy Abbott, 310 Rock Mill Rd., Henderson, NC 27537. The family would like to give a special “Thank you” to the ICU Staff at Maria Parham Health for their compassionate and loving care given to Mrs. Padgett.
