Pattillo “Pat” Ramseur Royster

OXFORD- Pattillo Ramseur “Pat” Royster, age 83, a resident of Pine Cone Dr., died Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Granville Medical Center. Born April 12, 1939 in Forsyth Co., she was the daughter of the late Edna Clingman Ramseur and Charles Monroe Ramseur of Winston-Salem, and was the widow of Thomas Sampson “Sam” Royster, Jr. Pat was a graduate of R. J. Reynolds High School and Woman’s College in Greensboro. She then married her late husband Sam, and they established their life together in Oxford. She was a member of Oxford Baptist Church. In her younger years she enjoyed playing golf and tennis and she was always an avid bridge player, playing with clubs in both Oxford and Henderson. Pat also enjoyed entertaining in her home for holidays and special events, and she loved traveling the world with Sam. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. She is survived by her son, Charlie Royster of Oxford; her daughter, Anna Barkley and husband, Cab of Raleigh; three grandchildren, whom she was very proud of, Tyler Royster, Laura B. Bratton and husband Hunter, and Elizabeth Barkley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Granville County Senior Center, P.O.Box 1287 Oxford NC, 27565.
