HENDERSON-Patty Chappell Carliles, age 86, a resident of 552 Paige St., died Wednesday June 9, 2010, at her home. Born in Franklin County on October 5, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Chappell and Lucy Joyner Chappell, and was the widow of Fred Ray Carliles.Mrs. Carliles graduated from Franklinton High School in 1942.She was a pharmacy tech at Eckerds Drug Store, and was formerly employed at Murdock Center.She was a member of the former Church Of The Nazarene.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Judd Compton.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia C. Sizemore (Jerry) and Sharon C. Hester (Jimmy) both of Oxford; two sons, Daryl Ray Carliles (Daisy) of Henderson and Dean Steven Carliles (Yvonne) of Clarksville, Virginia; two sisters, Inez C. Preddy of Franklinton, NC and Virginia C. Tart of Louisburg; ten grandchildren, Stevie Sizemore, Cathy Sizemore, Mark Sizemore, Kristi S. Bullock, Mickey Hester, Dwayne Hester, Jamie Rose Hester, Daryl R. Carliles, Jr., Melanie Ann Carliles, and Brad Carliles; and nine great grandchildren, Adam Sizemore, Kendall Sizemore, Gracie Bullock, Jordyn Sizemore, Chase Hester, Haley Hester, Jason Hester, J. B. Humphries, and Brandon Carliles.She was preceded in death by one great grandchild, Colton Humphries.
The family will receive friends Sunday night from 7:00 until 8:30 at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 552 Paige Street.
Serving as active pall bearers will be her grandsons, Stevie Sizemore, Mark Sizemore, Michael Hester, Dwayne Hester, Brad Carliles, and Daryl Carliles, Jr.
