Peggy Duke Gaona

WAKE FOREST- Peggy Duke Gaona, 90, of South White Street, died Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Louisburg Nursing Center. Born December 15, 1931 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late James L. Duke and Eva Bradsher Duke and was the widow of John A. Ellington and Frank Gaona. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, May 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. George Williams. She is survived by three sons, John Keith Ellington, Adrian Craig Ellington and Frank Gaona, Jr.; three sisters, Jean D. Lassiter, Joyce Duke, and Jenny D. Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Esther W. Duke; and one brother, James “Jimmy” Duke. The family will receive friends following the service at Sunset Gardens.
