HENDERSON-Peggy Ellington Lawson, 78, a resident of 893 Coble Blvd., died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at her home.Born in Vance County on May 25, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John Hill Ellington and Elizabeth Riggan Ellington. Mrs. Lawson was a homemaker and attended Freedom Life Church of God.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 am at Freedom Life Church of God by the Rev. Jeff Prewer.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, William Franklin Lawson of the home; one daughter, Debra Ann L. Taylor (Worth) of Henderson; two sons, John "Franky" Lawson (Ann) and Billy Joe Lawson (Selena) of Henderson; one sister, Margie Gillespie of Middleburg; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Hugh Joseph Lawson; her daughter, Joyce Ann Talley; and her half-sister, Mary Alice Faulkner.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 until 8 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Franky and Ann Lawson at 426 Rollins Avenue.
Serving as pall bearers will be ushers of Freedom Life Church of God.
