Phyllis Robertson Penn

Phyllis Robertson Penn, 54, of Oxford, N.C., passed peacefully in her sleep on January 5, 2017. Born March 8, 1962, in Henderson, N.C., Phyllis attended Vance County Schools and was most recently an Office Manager for an auto body shop in Raleigh, NC.
Phyllis will be remembered by all for her sparkling brown eyes, her amazingly bright smile, her beautifully melodious singing voice, and her fierce love for her family and friends.
She is survived by her parents, Thurston and Annie Robertson; her grandson, her heartstring, Gerald Taylor Tuck, III; brothers, Phillip (Carolyn) Robertson and Jay Robertson; brother-in-law, Dennis Wright; special nieces and nephews: Jill (Steven) Clayton, Gary (Connie) Wright, Jillan (Jimmy) Smith; special great nephew and niece: Tyler Wright and Chloe Clayton; and numerous other family members and many friends that were considered family.
Phyllis was met at the pearly gates of Heaven by her only son, her heart, Gerald "J.T." Tuck, Jr.; her only sister, Linda R. Wright; her grandmothers, Linda H. Grissom and Helen R. Foster; and a few lifelong friends. What a party that must have been!
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at New Hope Baptist Church, 6868 Raleigh Road, Kittrell, NC. Visitation with the family will be held immediately after the service. Everyone that knew Phyllis is invited to attend.
