Polly Frazier Hobgood

LOUISBURG- Bennie Lou “Polly” Frazier Hobgood, 94, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehab. Born December 13, 1929 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Bennie Vernell Watkins Frazier and Thomas Worth Frazier and was the widow of Henry Frank Hobgood, Jr. Polly was a lifelong member of Fuller Chapel Christian Church. She retired from nursing after many years in various nursing roles, of which she enjoyed her time as a labor and delivery nurse the most. She is a past recipient of the “Volunteer of the Year” award at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehab. Polly will be remembered by many for her wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed being active outside, loved Christmas with her family and was an avid UNC Tar Heel fan. A private memorial service will be held. She is survived by her son, Henry Frank Hobgood, III and wife, Diane of Knightdale; her daughter, Vicki H. Roberson and husband, Norm of Hartsville, SC; three grandchildren, Nicki R. Murray, Henry Frank Hobgood, IV and James Thomas Hobgood; five great-grandchildren, Raegan, Reese, Nicholas, Lucus and Maia; a sister, Peggy F. Pegram; and two brothers, Dr. Richard Frazier and Gene “Doc” Frazier. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ike F. Southerland and Jane F. Kittrell; and three brothers, Bill Frazier, Kirby Frazier and Fred Frazier.
