HENDERSON- Preston Abbott Dunn, 66, of 1627 Oakdale Circle, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at his home.Born in Vance County on March 16, 1952, he was the son of the late Kenneth Dunn and Esther Mitchell Dunn. Preston was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church where he served as the Music Director.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Blessed Hope Baptist Church by Dr. Donald A. Perkinson. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle Dunn and Nikki Dunn Batchelor (William), both of Henderson; a brother, K.C. Dunn of Wake Forest; two sisters, Audrey D. Barron of New Bern and Rochelle D. Anderson of Lake Gaston, VA; and a brother-in-law, David Jones of Macon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Jones Dunn.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Pegram, Tommy Mustian, Charles Garrett, Eric Martin, Jamie Elliott, J. W. Tunstall, Danny Stevenson, Mike Watkins, Ralph Newton, Lang Coghill, Kevin Pruitt,and Bernie Long.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 741 Dabney Rd, Henderson, NC 27537.
