OXFORD- Rachel Elaine Jackson Cottrell, 65, of East Front Street, died Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Hock Family Pavilion.Born October 31, 1954 in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Felix C. Jackson and Mary Elliott Jackson.
A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 2:00 Pm at Meadowview Cemetery by Dr. Bruce Beck.
She is survived by her husband, J. David Cottrell, Jr. of the home; her daughter, Sherry Cottrell and James Hall of Oxford; her son, J. David Cottrell, III and wife, Stacey of Oxford; three grandchildren, Lexi Cottrell, Landon Cottrell and Clay Hall; and two sisters, Josephine Holbrook of Oxford and Viola Simmons of Henderson.She was preceded in death by two brothers, Julian Jackson and William Jackson; and six sisters, Rosa Lee Tuck, Beulah Greenway, Mozelle Cooke, Marilyn Franklin, Judith Parker and Dolly Travis.
The family will receive friends following the service at Meadowview and at other times they will be at the home of David and Stacey Cottrell (93 Stovall Road, Oxford, NC 27565).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "Lexi’s Wish" (93 Stovall Road, Oxford, NC 27565) to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
