Rachel Blake Ellis, age 93, a resident of Senior Citizens Nursing Home, and a former resident of 1468 NC Hwy. 39 South died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Senior Citizens Nursing Home.Born on December 24, 1917 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Preston Blake and Ida Seate Blake, and was the widow of Albert Jackson Ellis.Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker and a member of Gillburg United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the Gillburg United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Jeff Prewer.
She is survived by two sons, Jackie Ellis and Kenneth Ellis both of Henderson; one daughter, Nancy V. Murray of Henderson; three grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and four great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by one grandson, Kenneth Blake Ellis, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the home of Jackie and Bonnie Ellis at 1067 Weldon Road.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
