Rachel Wheeler Yancey

HUBERT- Rachel Ann Wheeler Yancey, 75, of Daphne Drive, died Monday, February 13, 2023 at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Born January 15, 1948 in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Briggs Wheeler and Henry Lee Wheeler and was the widow of Rev. Woodrow Edward Yancey. She was retired from Roses Stores and a member of Freedom Way Free Will Baptist Church in Swansboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Grassy Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Petty. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Caryn Y. Salmon (Ronnie) of Hubert, Amelia Y. Winters (Cameron) of Henderson, and Johanna Y. Harris of Emerald Isle; a son, James Lilley (Robbie) of Franklinton; a sister, Delores Robinson (Ernest) of Henderson; a brother, H.L. Wheeler (Janet) of Henderson; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be David Yancey, Dana Yancey, Cameron Winters, Jr., Dylan Alexander, Daniel Anderson, and Joe Presher. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 12:30 P.M. until 1:50 P.M. in the fellowship hall of Grassy Creek Baptist Church. At other times they will be at the home of Delores and Ernest Robinson, 2397 N. Lynnbank Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
