HENDERSON-Roy Randall Gupton, 70, a resident of 95 Cokesbury Court, died Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the Durham VA Hospital.Born in Vance County on May 24, 1945, he was the son of the late Roy W. Gupton and Flossie Duke Gupton.Randall was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a retired Manager of the former Winn Dixie, and a former member of Second Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jake Roberson and the Rev. David Barnett.Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife Pat Delbridge Gupton of the home; son, Roy Randall "Randy" Gupton, II (Hannah) of Wake Forest;daughter, Amber Faye Gupton (Brian) of Henderson;step-daughter, Wendy Pegram (Rob) of Apex; six grandchildren, Caitlyn Gupton, Cameron Gupton, Catherine Gupton, Ashley Pegram, Lisa Pegram, and John Pegram; and sister-in-law, Anne House Gupton of Henderson.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Rev. S. Leon Gupton.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Marty Owens, Ronnie Grissom, Marvin Ross, III, Robert Bowen, Chorey Collins, and Ray Clairborne.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his caregiver, Tara Ayon.
