Ray Charles Stafford, age 49, a resident of 9113 Lancaster Hwy., died Thursday, September 26, 2013, at his home.Born on October 27, 1963 in Halifax County, VA, he was the son of Pauline Mann Stafford of Henderson and the late Robert Charles Stafford.He previously attended Harriett Baptist Church in Henderson, and was an employee of Carotek, Inc. in Matthews, NC.He was a Scout Leader of Troop # 33 in Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 pm at Harriett Baptist Church 935 S. Carolina Avenue, Henderson, NC27536, by Pastor Will Breedlove.Burial will follow on Monday in the Moore Family Cemetery, Murphy’s Grove Road Halifax,VA.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Brittany Ray Stafford Driver of Roxboro and Rhyanne Colleen Stafford of Charlotte; two sons, Robert Samuel "Rob" Stafford of Roxboro and Kody Ray Stafford of Charlotte; two sisters, Teresa Stafford of Graham and Donna Stafford Rollins of Henderson; three grandchildren, Jenna, Colton, and Houston; and his second dad, John D. Stalls, Sr. of Oxford.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3 pm prior to the service on Sunday in the fellowship hall at Harriett Baptist Church.At other times they will be at the home of his mother at 905 Southern Pine Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to "Central NC Council" for Boy Scouts of America in memory of Ray Stafford, PO Box 250, Albemarle, NC 28002.
