HENDERSON-Raymond Lee Ray Harrell, Sr., age 69, a resident of 1320 Hight Street, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Duke University Medical Center.Born on July 27, 1947 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Otis Lee Harrell and Meggie LeNeave Harrell.Ray was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving in Vietnam. He was formerly employed as a Supervisor at the former Harriett & Henderson Yarns, Inc., and was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Mens Bible Class.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens with Military Honors.
He is survived by his wife Pamela Dianne Williams Harrell of the home; two sons, Raymond Lee Harrell, Jr. and wife Shannon of Henderson and Michael Wayne Harrell of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Glenda H.Tallant of California and Becky Barnes of Henderson; four brothers, Sherwood Harrell of Louisiana, Freddie Harrell of High Point, Randy Harrell of Henderson, and Steve Harrell of Washington, NC; four grandchildren, Makayla Harrell, Joshua Harrell, Jasmine Harrell, and Aurora Harrell; his step-mother, Gladys Harrell of Greenville, NC; and two step-sisters, Christy Harris of Greenville, NC and Wendy Blackwell of Washington, NC.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Ray and Shannon Harrell at 118 Holiday Lane, Lot 49, in the Vicksboro Community.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Ernie Robinson, Tyler Rooker, Scott Rooker, Jake Gilliam, Cecil Williams, Donald Pearce, Jr. and Tim Williams.
