Rebecca Grimes Betty Kita, age 83, a resident of Henderson, NC and Oakland, Maine, died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Brigham & Womens Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.Born on August 1, 1927 in Beverly, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late William Grimes and Georgia Whitman Grimes, and was the widow of Michael George Kita.
Mrs. Kita was a retired school teacher and a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Oxford.
A memorial service will be held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Oxford at a later date.
She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth K. Wolf and husband, Andrew of Houston, Texas; three sons, Christopher Kita and wife, Linda of Arlington, MA, Jefferson Kita and wife, Karen of Newton, MA, Jonathan Kita and wife, Sharon of Chesapeake, VA; her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Kita Burke of Kennebunk, Maine; grandchildren, Rebecca Dostie and husband, David, Jonathan Kita, Christopher Kita, Timothy Kita, Gregory Kita, Max Wolf, and Sarah Wolf; one brother, William Grimes and wife, Judith of Rumney, New Hampshire; a brother-in-law, James Andrews of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, and by five nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Kita; and her sister, Grace G. Andrews.
