Rebecca Mayo Trotman

HENDERSON- Rebecca Jane Mayo Trotman, 92, of Roanoke Ave, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the home of her son. Born February 14, 1930 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Pattie Jane Breedlove Mayo and Joseph Dixon Mayo and was the widow of Harry Dehaven Trotman, Jr. She was an avid bridge player. A private burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Rebecca is survived by four children, Harry Dehaven Trotman, III (Ruth) of Hope Mills, Paul R. Trotman (Kim) of Rocky Point, Rebecca T. Jones (Mike) of Chapel Hill and Jamie Trotman of Baltimore; her daughter-in-law, Frances C. Trotman of Charleston; nine grandchildren, William J. Trotman, Andrew C. Trotman, David Jones, Paul R. Trotman, Jr., Alex D. Jones, Gray Gainey, James Trotman, Nicholas Trotman, and Mark Trotman; four step-grandchildren, Andrew Jones, Dan Jones, Matthew Jones, and Allyson Wiggs; nine great grandchildren; a niece, Verlie M. Norris of Orlando; and a nephew, Joe D. Mayo, III of Asheville. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William J. Trotman; a grandchild, Chris Trotman; her brother, Dr. Joseph D. Mayo, Jr. and her sister-in-law, Oveida E. Mayo.
