Richard Allen Chilton, Sr., age 70, a resident of 199 Browns Creek Lane, Manson died Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home.Born on July 28, 1945 in Guilford County, he was the son of the late Fred Chilton and Marjorie Davis Chilton.He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired as a Regional Sales Manager with 20th Century Truck Accessories Group.He was a member of Harriett Baptist Church for 40 years and the Adult Mens Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at Harriett Baptist Church by Rev. Will Breedlove, Rev. Jake Roberson and Dr. Charles Hutchens.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pat Vaughan Chilton of the home; his son, Richard Allen Chilton, Jr. and wife Jane of Manson; his daughter, Evelyn Marie Chilton of Henderson; two sisters, Cathy C. Doss of High Point and Delese C. Venable and husband Alan of Kernersville; and four grandchildren, Ashley Michelle Chilton, Richard Allen Chilton, III, Harley LeAnne Newman and Anthony Michael Donoway.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Michael Chilton.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7:00 till 8:30 at J.M. White Funeral Home.At other times the family will be at the home of Ricky and Jane Chilton, 71 Browns Creek Lane, Manson, NC.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Harriett Baptist Church 935 South Carolina Ave. Henderson, NC 27536 or Community Home Care and Hospice, 152 Zeb Robinson Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
Serving as active pall bearers will be David Puffenburger, Steve Norwood, Scott Wilkins, David Boyd, Howard Mitchell and Kevin Jones.
Serving as honorary pall bearers will be Bobby Bowden, Frank Wilson, Richard Cantrell, Lawrence Hilliard, Billy Perry, Todd Holland, and Ed Perdue.
