Richard Lewis "Button" Jones

KITTRELL- Richard Lewis “Button” Jones, 67, of Rocky Ford Road, died, September 20, 2023 at Hock Pavilion. Born February 9, 1956 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Jeanette Stroud Jones and Turner M. Jones. He was retired from Coca Cola Bottling Company in Durham where he worked as a sales manager. Richard was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 P.M. by Dr. Gene Wood. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Jacque Cottrell Jones of the home; four sons, Chris Jones (Melissa) of Kittrell, Brian Jones (Shannon) of Hillsborough, Nick Jones (Heather) of Kittrell, and J.J. Jones (Tomica) of Kittrell; five grandchildren, Makayla Jones, Katlyn Jones, Jadyn Page, Teagan Jones, and Lucus Jones; three great-grandchildren, Caden Underwood, Blaze Keeter and Kismet Keeter; his sister, Becky Allen (Tony); and two brothers, Charles Jones (Ann) and Johnny Jones (Angie). Serving as active pallbearers will be Johnny George, Gary Mangum, Kemp Johnson, V.W. Denton, Steve Mazus, Ryan Rowland, Eddie White and Steve Stroud. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be C.T. Overton, Gary Pulley, Billy Overton, Curtis White, Phillip White and Calvin McGhee. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Calvary Baptist Church and at other times at the home.
