Rita Oxendine Walker

HENDERSON- Rita Helena Oxendine Walker, age 63, passed away July 6, 2014 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham.Born December 5, 1950 in Fairmont, NC, she was the daughter of the late James Oxendine and Bernice Morgan Oxendine.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Frank Sossamon on Wednesday at 10 am in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home.Burial will follow at 4:30 pm at Lumbee Memorial Gardens in Lumberton, NC.
She is survived by four daughters, Natalie Van Epps and husband Rob of Davidson, NC, Celena Carter and husband Bobby of Hickory, NC, Angie Boyd and husband Glenn of Henderson, NC and Denise Smith and husband Sam of Laurinburg, NC; a brother, Randy Oxendine and wife Darlynn of Henderson, NC; a sister Roxie Walker of Charlotte, NC; and most dear to her heart ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at J.M. White Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in her memory at www.diabetes.org.
