Robert "Bobby" Lane Ellis, Sr.

HENDERSON-Robert “Bobby” Lane Ellis, Sr., 80, a resident of Garrett Road died Sunday, November 06, 2022, in a local nursing home. Born on May 26, 1942 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Edward William Ellis and Katie Grissom Ellis. He was the owner and operator of Ellis Precast Concrete Company, Inc. for 50 years. Bobby was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Studebakers Club, Afton Gun Club, Vicksboro Hunting Club, Kerr-Tar Beekeeper's Association and was a 4-H Leader. Bobby loved the outdoors where he was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Some of his best times were spent in a field or a deer stand, fishing with his friends and family or camping. Bobby was quite the cook, and he was happiest when he could cook for a group. He was especially known for his fish fries with all the trimmings from the haul he had just caught that weekend. Another great family tradition that started while his parents were living, with his bride by his side, was cooking a huge breakfast early on Christmas morning. Bobby was a wonderful story teller, dancer and friend to all. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday November 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Ellis Family Cemetery on Garrett Road by the Rev. Josh Woodall. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Maria Johnson Ellis of the home; two daughters, Tammy E. Williamson (Dalton) of Henderson and Dawn E. Maus (Scott) of Moseley, Virginia; two sons, Robert Lane Ellis, Jr. (Kim) and Randy Scott Ellis (Kristie) of Henderson; eight grandchildren, Brandon Williamson (Elizabeth), Christopher Williamson (Emily), Logan Ellis, Caiden Ellis, Cameron Maus, Jordin Maus, Parker Maus and Morgan Williams; three great grandchildren, Jameson Williamson, Josh Murensky, and Jake Murensky; and one brother, E. W. Ellis, Jr. of Goldsboro. The family will receive friends at the home on Garrett Road on Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt.
