Robert "Bobby" Guy Wells

Robert Guy Bobby Wells, age 85, a resident of 276 Allen Road in the Dabney Community, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 26, 2015, at his home.Born on April 30, 1929 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Guy Polk Wells and Helen Elizabeth Reavis Wells.
Bobby retired from the NC Department of Transportation in June of 1990 after 23 years of service, but he was always a farmer at heart.He was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and the Adult Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jonathan Sherrod.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Patsy Taylor Wells of the home; four daughters,Robin Gay Wells, Brenda Faye Wells, and Tamra Elizabeth Wells of Henderson, and Mary Helen Wells Bullard (Richard) of Youngsville; three sisters, Martha W. Roberson of Greenville, Edith W. Bittick of Henderson, and Ruby S. Sledge (Bill) of Pinehurst.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Beatrice Ruth Colenda; one sister, Jewel W. Clayton; and one nephew, Gregory Wells Clayton.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 PM until 2 PM in the St Andrews Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Dan Robinson, Irvin Robinson, Jr., Wayne Clayton, L. A. Williams, Kevin Williford, Michael L. Roberson,and Ken Stegall.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery, c/o Cindy Jones, 100 Hicksboro Road, Henderson, NC27537.
