RALEIGH- Robert Lynwood “Bob” Hubbard, Sr., 91, of Spring Forest Road, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at his home following a brief illness. He lived his life fully up until the end with an unwavering zest for life. “Bob” as he was known by his friends, was born on October 13, 1934 in Charlotte, to his late parents, H. Lester Hubbard and Ida Brown Hubbard, and was the loving husband to the late Jaquelynn Yates “Jackie” Hubbard for 62 years. Bob graduated from North Carolina State University and was a successful businessman in the textile industry. He was president and owner of Americal Corporation in Henderson for 34 years. Bob was an active member of the Henderson Rotary club, served on the foundation board at Vance Granville Community College, was chairman of the Vance County Wolfpack Club and was an active member of First Baptist Church Henderson. Bob enjoyed playing rounds of golf with friends at the Henderson Country Club. He was the ultimate Wolfpack fan who enjoyed attending every home football and basketball game with Jackie, for many years. He loved to stay on the go and was always planning a trip abroad or somewhere in the United States, Las Vegas was a favorite destination.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. by Dr. Ronald S. Cava at First Baptist Church Henderson.
Bob is survived by his sons, Robert L. Hubbard, Jr. (Beth) and Christopher B. Hubbard (Laura) of Cary; and daughter, Jennifer Hubbard Harris (Wesley). He was the proud grandfather of Canaday Hubbard Green (Michael), Robert Yates Hubbard, Brooke Daniel Elliott (Kirk), Fenton Clare Hubbard (Blake), and Christopher Thomas Hubbard. Bob was fortunate to have the blessings of three great grandchildren, Ellerbe Elizabeth Green, Blakely Jaquelynn Green and Wyatt Landon Seaton.
The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday at a reception in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Henderson, PO Box 75, Henderson, NC 27536.
