Robert George Kilgore

Born on February 11, 1940 in Morristown, TN, he was the son of the late George Arthur Kilgore and the late Marian Shepherd Kilgore. He was a retired Regional Vice President for Belk Stores, Inc., served in the US Navy, and a member of First United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2pm at First United Methodist Church by Dr. John M. Check and Rev. Timothy J. Burgess.
He is survived by his wife Gladys Vassar Kilgore of Henderson; one daughter, Staci K. Barnett and husband, Neil of Henderson; one son, Kevin G. Kilgore and wife, Tonya of Henderson; three grandchildren, Alex Barnett, Allison Kilgore, and Andrew Kilgore; two sisters, Mary Ellen K. Hupp of South Boston and Amy K. Jeffrey of Fayetteville; and one brother, William M. Kilgore of High Point. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur R. Kilgore, and one sister, Elizabeth A. Kilgore.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church 114 Church St, Henderson NC 27536 or the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Family Life Center Building Fund 1699 Weldons Mill Rd, Henderson NC 27537.
The family will receive friends at the home.
