Robert Marcus Porterfield, 55, a resident of 51 Brentwood Lane, died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at his home.Born in Forsyth County on May 24, 1962, he was the son of the late Robert Milo Porterfield and Joan Rominger Porterfield.Marcus worked as a computer engineer at NetApp and was a Veteran of the North Carolina National Guard. He was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Poplar Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Tony Evans.Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. He is survived by his wife, Judy Bennett Porterfield of the home; a son, Jamie Hunt and wife Kathy of Franklinton; two daughters, Jill Hunt of the home and Allison Hunt of Raleigh; seven grandchildren, Chelsea Lea, Scott Lea, Caleb Hunt, Bennett Hunt, Zachary Crosby, Isabella Hunt and Isaiah Hunt; one sister, Heather L. Porterfield of Chapel Hill; and two uncles, John E. Rominger, Jr. (Jane) of Kernersville, and John C. Porterfield of Pascagoula, Mississippi.
The family will receive friends following the service and at other times they will be at the home.
