HENDERSON-Robert Knowles Mooring, 91, a resident of 915 Abbott Street, diedSaturday, August 18, 2018, at Maria Parham Health.Born in Nash County on January 1, 1927, he was the son of the late Thomas M. Mooring and Ida Ellis Mooring.
Robert proudly served for 25 years in the United States Air Force during World War II,the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
Graveside funeral services with Military Honors will be held Thursday at 11:00 at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.
He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Lee Mooring of the home; and one son, Michael Wayne Mooring of the home.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Parham Mooring; two brothers, Joseph G. Mooring and William Mooring; and two sisters, Mattie H. Mooring and Ursula King.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 until 8 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.
