Robert "Robin" Palmer Brewer, Jr.

WAKE FOREST- Robert Palmer “Robin” Brewer, Jr., 75 died Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at his home. Born March 15, 1948, in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of the late Commander Robert Palmer Brewer, Sr. and Percye Burwell Brewer. Robin was an honors student and graduated with a BA degree in Radio, Television and Motion Pictures from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was a member of Mensa and worked in public relations. He wrote and produced several slide shows for the Carolina Alumni Association, most notably the national award winning “Hark the Sound” narrated by Andy Griffith and another award winner narrated by Charles Kuralt. He was loved for his sense of humor, skillful but caring ability to engage almost anyone in meaningful conversation and his devotion to family. Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife, Lou Kelley Brewer of the home; daughter, Sarah Violette Brewer of Wake Forest; son, Samuel Hart Brewer (Helen) of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Clark Watson Brewer, Davis Venable Brewer, Lillian Taylor Brewer; sister, Donna Morton Brewer of Sanford; brother-in-law, William Wheeler Sternbergh of Greensboro; mother-in-law, Anne Wood Kelley of Raleigh and many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Catharine Brewer Sternbergh. The family gives great thanks to all of Robin’s health care professionals over the past few years. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home Henderson, N.C. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the J. M. White Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Palmer Snipes, Brewer Sternbergh, Xenophon Sternbergh, William Berry, Clark Brewer, Samuel Brewer.
