HENDERSON-Robert Eugene Waddell,.age 74, a resident of 293 Tower Lane, died Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born in Vance County on March 1, 1940, he was the son of the late John E. Waddell and Rosa Lee Journigan Waddell.He worked as a security guard at Variety Wholesale and was retired from Burlington Industries where he worked for over forty years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff Prewer.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by two daughters, Kelly Waddell of the home and Debbie W. Bowes of Henderson; two sons, David Waddell and Jimmy Waddell both of Henderson; eight grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Gail Williams Waddell; two brothers, Sherman Waddell and Earl Waddell and one grandson, Brian Waddell.
The family will receive friends Wednesday prior to the service from 12:30 until 2 pm atJ. M.
White Funeral Home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Grover Barnette, Cecilio Lawson, Rocky Ross, Jeremy Abbott, Josh Tunstall, and Jimmy Waddell, Jr.
