LAURINBURG-Robert Lee West, Sr., age 79, a resident of Laurinburg, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016.Born in Vance County on July 28, 1936, he was the son of the late Jarvis Thomas West and Lillian Abbott West.He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Robert was an ordained minister in the Pentecostal Faith and was an electrical engineer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 2 PM in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by the Rev. George Williams.Burial will be in Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Lisa West Kerr and husband, James of Rockingham; two sons, James Michael West of Laurinburg and Robert Lee West, Jr. and wife Claire of San Diego, CA; one brother, James West of Pawleys Island, SC; three grandchildren, Amanda Byrd, Travis Kerr, and Camile West; and two great grandchildren, Grayson Kerr and Savannah Kerr.
The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the service from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.
