Roberta Aline Thompson Adams

HENDERSON-Roberta Aline Thompson Adams, age 73, a resident of 731 Lakeview Drive, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Maria Parham Medical Center. Born on February 6, 1942 in Escambia County, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Joe Thompson and Laura Wise Thompson.
Aline was a devoted member of City Road United Methodist Church.She was an avid bowler when she was younger and a passionate collector of Barbie Dolls.She loved young children, Beanie Babies, fishing and Dennys.She was a champion of the underdog no matter what race, creed, or gender.
Memorial services will be held Sunday at 4:30 pm at City Road United Methodist Church by the Rev. Edgar Vergara and Jimmy Adams.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy G. Adams of the home; two sons, Donald R. Adams and Jimmy G. Adams, Jr. (Jennie)both of Henderson; and one daughter, Edith A. Cantagallo of Lake Worth, FL; and ten grandchildren, Robin Matthews, Donna Adams, Amber Adams, Joshua Adams, Jonathan Adams, Joseph Cantagallo, Felicia Cantagallo, Robert Cantagallo, Jimmy G. Adams, III, Leanne Adams; and four sisters, Carolyn Herring, Laura Polise, Betty Jean Campbell, and Melba Lee.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Lee Brown; and a brother, CPO Joseph Thompson, USN.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 731 Lakeview Drive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to City Road United Methodist Church c/o Pat Tillotson, PO Box 116, Henderson, NC27536.
