TOWNSVILLE- Ronald Jackson Anderson, 79, a resident of Townsville, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Duke University Medical Center.Born in Greenville, SC on August 17, 1937 he was the son of the late Selsus Jackson Anderson and Ruth Groover Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a Veteran of the United States Army, a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of Townsville Lions Club, and a former member of Townsville Volunteer Fire Department.He was an avid golfer and member of the Tabernacle Hackers, and was a former scout master with Boy Scouts of America.He was retired from Roses Warehouse.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Tabernacle United Methodist Church (1725 Rock Spring Church Rd., Townsville, NC, 27537) by Rev. David Pate.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Sylvia Fleming Anderson of the home; a daughter, Sandra A. Satterwhite of Roxboro; four grandchildren, Hannah Davis (Russell), Regan H. Satterwhite, Thomas B. Anderson and Jenna L. Anderson; three sisters, Barbara Winstead, Jean Hight and Pat Winstead all of Henderson; four brothers, including his twin brother, Donald Anderson of Madison, Johnny Anderson of Raleigh, Kelly Anderson and Butch Anderson of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Tom Bryant Anderson and a brother, William Bill Anderson.
The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of Tabernacle United Methodist Church (1725 Rock Spring Church Rd., Townsville, NC, 27537).
