HENDERSON- Rosa Lee Lois Parks Knight, 88, of Henderson, died Monday, May 01, 2023 at her home. Born May 7, 1934 in Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Parks Clark and Willie Parks and was the widow of June C. Knight, Sr. To honor Rosa’s wishes, an immediate burial was held in Fairview Cemetery in Warrenton on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, where she was laid to rest beside her husband. She is survived by three sons, June Knight, Jr. (Wanda) of Henderson, James Knight (Renee) of Henderson, Larry Parks of Louisburg; two daughters, Geneva K. Boxer (Evan) of Charlotte and Shelia K. Carter (Cliff) of Henderson; eight grandchildren, Amy Ford Rodriguez (Rick), Buffy Ford, Lizzie Pendergrass, Rachel Boxer, Kalei Knight, Tiffany K. Lewis (T.J.), David Carter (Wendy) and Thomas Knight; and nine great grandchildren, April Pendergrass, Nikki Pendergrass, Kara Pendergrass, Haley Carter, Jasmine Fields, Christopher Bullock, Tia Lewis, Takayla Lewis, Talyiah Lewis. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Esther Marie P. Brewer; and two brothers, William Parks and Charles Parks.
