Rosemary Bohl Ison

Asheville- Rosemary Bohl Ison, 92, formerly of Oxford, NC, died on April 24, 2019, in Asheville, NC. She was predeceased by her husband William W. Ison. She is survived by daughters Rebecca Ayres of Asheville and Linda Ison of Oxford, NC, and grandchildren Matthew Ison, of Goleta, CA and Catherine Ayres Bateman of Charlotte, NC.
Rosemary was born on February 3, 1927 to Robert and Helen Bohl in Beaver Dam, WI. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Geology and worked for Gulf Oil. After moving to Oxford, she taught reading at the Central Orphanage of North Carolina and biology and chemistry at J.F. Webb High School. She served as historian for the Mary Jamieson Woman’s Club. She was active in the St. James Catholic Church in Henderson, where she served as pianist and organist.
The memorial service will be held at 10 AM on June 29, 2019 at the St. James Catholic Church in Henderson, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the music ministry at the St. James Catholic Church.
