HENDERSON- Roy Carlton Newhouse, Sr., age 76, a resident of 55 Daniel Harris Road, died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Universal Health Care in Oxford.Born in Vance County on September 23, 1941, he was the son of the late John Newhouse, Sr. and Velma West Newhouse.Roy was a farmer and was retired from H.G. Reynolds where he worked as a superintendent. He attended Central Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM by Dr. Randy Mann.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Abbott Newhouse of the home; three sons, Roy Carlton Newhouse, Jr. and wife Crystal of Henderson, Timothy Wayne Newhouse and wife Sherri of Garner, and James Thomas Jamie Newhouse (April Smith) of Henderson; a brother, John Newhouse, Jr. of Lumberton; eleven grandchildren, April N. Abbott and husband Chris, Cameron Newhouse and wife Kristie, Emilee Newhouse, Samuel Newhouse, Tyler Newhouse, Frank Newhouse, Evy Newhouse, Mitchell Newhouse, Sean Newhouse, Brice Newhouse and Ryan Newhouse; seven great grandchildren, Tanner Abbott, Emma Abbott, Lane Newhouse, Audrie Newhouse, Hayden Hall, Reagan Newhouse and Alleea Newhouse; and a daughter-in-law, Pam Newhouse.
Roy was preceded in death by a son, Robert Earl Newhouse; a brother, George Lee Newhouse; and two grandchildren, Autumn Newhouse and Brandon Newhouse.
The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cameron Newhouse, Chris Abbott, Frank Newhouse, Ryan Newhouse, Adam Roberson and Clay Hoyle.
Arrangements are by J.M. White Funeral Home.
