HENDERSON- Mrs. Ruby Stanton Burroughs, age 98, a resident of Senior Citizens Nursing Home, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born on May 27, 1915 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Victor Stanton and Annie Strickland Stanton.She attended South Henderson Church of God.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM in the J.M. White Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Gary Harper.Burial will follow in the Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by five grandchildren, Vickie Duffer of South Boston, Virginia, Priscilla Murphy of Henderson, Ricky Abbott of Wendell, Michael Abbott of Norlina, and Dennis Abbott of Henderson; and six great-grandchildren, Ernest Walker, Chad Abbott, Kyle Abbott, Rob Abbott, Jesse Abbott, and John Abbott.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ollie Weaver; her daughter, Patricia Rose Abbott; and her brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00PM till 3:00PM at J.M. White Funeral Home.
