HENDERSON- Ruby Lee Lassiter Collie, 77, of Debnam Avenue, died August 8, 2024 at her home. Born July 10, 1947 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Ruby Warren Lassiter and George Freeland Lassiter, Sr. and was the widow of Chris Eugene Collie. She retired from Harriett and Henderson Yarns where she worked for over 30 years. Most recently she was employed at the Henderson Walmart where she was a greeter. Ruby was a member of Mt. Ararat Pentecostal Holiness Church where funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. by Rev. Allen Ayscue and Pastor William D. Stevenson, Jr. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Ruby is survived by three daughters, Angela Wade (Jeff), Susan Jones (Richard), and Crystal Winston (Ed), all of Henderson; a son, John Earl Hester (Angie) of Henderson; fourteen grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Deborah Ayscue (Allen) and Mary Ayscue, both of Henderson; a brother, Morris Lassiter (Debbie) of Henderson; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Lassiter, Loretta Collie and Mary Lee (James); a brother-in-law, Ricky Collie and her best friend, Dianne Fausak of Henderson. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Freeland Lassiter, Jr. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Ararat Pentecostal Holiness Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Wade, Jacob Jones, Brandon Jones, C.J. Hunt, Ed Winston and Ricky Collie.
