Ruby Carter Perdue

HENDERSON-Ruby Lee Carter Perdue, 80, a former resident of Brookston Road, died Friday, December 17, 2021, in a local nursing home. Born on March 21, 1941 in Warren County, she was the daughter of the late John P. Carter and Mary Louise Parrish Carter, and was the widow of Albert Perdue, Sr. Mrs. Perdue was a homemaker and member of the former Hillcrest Baptist Church. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. by Rev. George Williams at Sunset Gardens. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lee Overby of Henderson; three sisters, Louise Ezell and Judy Ezell of La Crosse, VA., and Peggy Jane Spence of South Hill, VA.; one grandson, Bobby Overby, Jr.; one great grand-daughter; and her niece and caregiver for the past five years, Shirley P. Allgood (Jimmy) of Henderson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Albert Perdue, Jr; and two brothers, Leroy Carter and Buck Carter. The family will receive friends following the service at Sunset Gardens.
