Rudolph Lanier Hunt, Jr.

HENDERSON- Rudolph “Rudy” Lanier Hunt, Jr., 82, of Satterwhite Point Road, died Monday, January 1, 2024 at Maria Parham Health. Born June 22, 1941 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Lavinia Matthews Hunt and Rudolph Lanier Hunt, Sr. Rudy retired from Ezzell Trucking where he was a truck driver. He enjoyed membership in the Corbitt Preservation Association. He was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church where he served as an usher for many years. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Island Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Johnny Yount. Rudy is survived by his wife, Sandra Copley Hunt of the home; two daughters, Patti Allison and husband, Ben of Morganton and Lela Hunt of Nashville, TN; and four grandchildren, Nevaeh Hunt, Danika Kerley, Kaius Davis and Daelan Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joe Ann Parks. The family will receive friends following the service on Friday in the fellowship hall of Island Creek Baptist Church.
