HENDERSON- Russell King Dillard, 92, of Brookston Road, died Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 at Granville Medical Center.Born in Inez in Warren County on August 6, 1927, he was the son of the late Ralph H. Dillard and Maude King Dillard.He was a Veteran of the United Stated Army, serving during the Korean War as Master Sergeant.He retired from Burlington Industries where he was employed for more than 40 years as a lab tech.Russell was a member of Brookston Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and Clerk of Session for more than 40 years.He was also a member of the former Middleburg Ruritan Club.
A private graveside service will be held Saturday at Middleburg Cemetery by Dr. Gerald Wilson.
Mr. Dillard is survived by his wife, Alma Franklin Dillard of the home; two daughters, Pamela Dillard Stewart (Neal) of Cary and Marsha Dillard Harris of Henderson; one son, Russell Franklin Dillard (Louise) of Wilson; and five grandchildren, David Stewart, Dr. Kevin Harris, Sarah Stump (Bo), Gillian Dillard and Laura Stewart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Martin, Hilda Perkinson and Geraldine Newsome; and three brothers, Tom Dillard, Carey Dillard and Floyd Dillard.
