HENDERSON- Russell E. Smith, age 59, of Henderson, died Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his home.Born in Framingham, Massachusetts on December 8, 1958 he was the son of the late Eugene Francis Smith and Bessie Willey Smith.Russell was medically retired from Iams and was a former employee of Greystone Concrete and Johnson Concrete.He also was a licensed conceal and carry instructor for the State of North Carolina.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 7:00 PM in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Gary Harper.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret White Smith, of the home; three sisters, Dorothy L. Odell of Virginia; Sandra D. Nawonty and Patricia A. Bunnell, both of Massachusetts; a brother, Douglas E. Smith of Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews; and two dear and special friends, Stewart Tharrington of Nebraska and Christopher Johnson of Oxford.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 PM till 7:00 PM and following the service at J.M. White Funeral Home.
