HENDERSON-Ruth Ann Smith Moorefield, age 80, a resident of 517 Hilliard Street, died Sunday, September 22, 2013 in a local nursing home.Born in Vance County on September 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late William Jethro Smith and Lucille Andrews Smith.She was a retired LPN at Maria Parham Hospital.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Vick and husband, Jimmy of Henderson; one son, Robert Ray Moorefield, Jr. of the home; three sisters,Mattie Hendricks, Mildred Edwards and Brenda Turner; one brother Robert Smith; five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ray Moorefield.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1 until 2 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home at 517 Hilliard Street.
