Ruth Virginia Kerton Bain

Ruth Virginia Kerton Bain, age 88, a resident of 203 Red Bud Circle, died Friday, May 23, 2014, at Maria Parham Hospital. Born in Norfolk, Virginia on October 31, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Richard Lee Kerton and the late Minnie Carter Kerton. She was a member of Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, Virginia and was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Henderson and the Red Hat Society.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30am at First Presbyterian Church in Henderson by the Rev. Keith Benze. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia by the Rev. John Monroe.
She is survived by one daughter, Suzanne B. Lambert and husband, Dennis of Henderson; one son, Kenneth L. Bain and wife, Marcia of Chesapeake, VA; five grandchildren, Kenneth Bain, Jr., Lindsey B. Warringer, Elizabeth B. Aylesworth, KatherineL. Farrell, and Taylor Lambert; and two great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Tyrer G. Bain, Jr..
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church. At other times they will be at the home of Suzanne and Dennis Lambert at 1437 Peace Street, Henderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 914 Henderson, NC 27536 in memory of Ruth K. Bain.
