Ruth Bailey Edwards, age 76, a resident of 491 Faulkner Town Road, died Wednesday April 11, 2012, at her home.Born on July 9, 1935 in Nash County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Calvin Bailey and Ina Pace Bailey.She was a retired beautician at the former La Rose Beauty Shop and was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3:00PM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Calvin Hedgepeth.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Gray Edwards, Sr. of the home; one daughter, Sandra Lynn Edwards Batten and husband, Kevin of Richmond, VA; three sons, Willie Gray Edwards, Jr. and wife, Tobbie, Butch Ellington and Bill Ellington all of Henderson; one sister, Diane B. Williams of West End; three granddaughters, Stephanie McDonald of Atlanta, Ga.; Gina Edwards of Greenville, NC, and Ashlee Cosentino of Jacksonville, NC; one great granddaughter, Claire McDonald.She was preceded in death by her sisters, Sally B. Ellington and Myrtis B. Strickland; and her brother, Thurman Bailey..
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 491 Faulkner Town Road.
