HENDERSON-Ruth Harris Glenn, 87, of Henderson passed away at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Monday, September 15, 2014.She was born Monday, May 16, 1927, in Henderson, NC, the daughter of the late Joseph L. Harris and Mattie Perry Harris of Henderson.
She was a long time member of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, a retired Family Dollar store manager and worked as a pharmacist assistance in the Winn Dixie Pharmacy.
A private burial will be held.
She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Glenn Buck of Columbia, SC; a son, Robert L. Glenn (Janet) of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Samantha Buck (Richard) Henry of Birdsboro, PA, Danielle Buck (Tracy) Fryberger of Fleetwood, PA; Caroline Glenn (Christopher) Richey of Columbus, OH; and Jonathan Glenn (Melissa) of Baumholder, Germany; six great grandchildren, Teagan Fryberger (17), Ryan Henry (15), Allison Richey (10), Tray Fryberger (8), Cameron Richey (6) and TaliAnna Fryberger (5); and a brother, William D. Harris of Henderson, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Furman T. Glenn; two brothers, Joseph Harris and Rev. Hollis Harris; a sister, Josephine Harp; and a grandson, Christopher Glenn.
