HENDERSON-Ruth Rowell Moore, 76, a resident of 1895 Ruin Creek Road, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, at her home.Born in Sanford on November 7, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Ella Glover Rowell and Jasper Woodrow Rowell, and was the widow of Rencher Gill Moore.
Ruth was a retired Assistant Administer for the Vance County School System and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Gary Harper.Burial will follow in the Harris Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by one son Michael Moore and wife, Lee of Henderson; one brother, M. Tyrone Rowell and wife, Pearl of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Kelly Gregory and husband, Michael and Eric Norwood and wife, Amanda; five great grandchildren, David, Tru Lee,M.J., Hannah, and Shianne; and her brother-in-law, Jack Hendricks.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette R. Hendricks.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 until 2 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at her home at 1895 Ruin Creek Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Eric Norwood, Michael Gregory, David Norwood, Jonathan Rowell, Ken Stegall, and Phil Hendricks.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Harris Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Lawrence Brame, 280 Kelly Road, Henderson, NC27537.
